This Monday, a new feature was introduced to simplify card payments on websites, mobile apps, and connected devices. American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa have announced the arrival of an online checkout based on EVM’s new Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) standard.
The “Click to Pay” option will be available at select merchants in the United States from this November. By early 2020, it will be made more widely available.
At this first moment, the sites that will adopt the payment tool are Cinemark, Movember, and Rakuten. Customers will be able to check out whenever the “Click to Pay” button is at the network logo lake.
“We are always looking for ways to improve the movie experience and offer a simpler, more modern checkout for ticket purchases is a significant point. We believe greater convenience and security will help increase loyalty, grow our business, and speed up checkouts, giving consumers coming to the cinema the most enjoyable experience possible. ”
Doug Fay
Cinemark Chief Technology Officer
Already in a second stage, at the end of 2019, will be listed BassPro, JoAnn Fabric, and Crafts, Papa John’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, SHOP.com and Tickets.com.
“In order to promote commerce, it is essential to provide merchants with solutions that enable greater consumer safety and convenience.”
Eddie Alberty
Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at SHOP.com
The intention of the initiative is to benefit both traders and consumers. For the former, the solution will help reduce shopping cart abandonment and accept multiple integration brands with a single integration.
For customers, the tool will allow them to complete their purchases in fewer steps, at any payment option, without having to manually enter account numbers and personal information.
