PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings amassed nearly $ 400 million in revenue in June

PUBG MobileTencent is increasingly strong in the mobile games industry, and proof of this is the fact that the company accumulated estimated revenue of US $ 400 million (~ R $ 2.1 billion) in June alone with two of the main games in the portfolio: PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings.

Both already have a consolidated success in the East, and they have been profitable for the company for a long time. Although there are similar titles in the Western Play Store, Honor of Kings was never released here, with the alternative version Arena of Valor, which never managed to reach the same level of popularity.

Despite not being officially available worldwide, Honor of Kings managed to surprise becoming the most profitable game of June, with estimated revenue of US $ 193 million, which represents a 50.4% increase over what it had accumulated during 2019.

As it is a highly popular title, obviously a large part of the value would have to come from the region, where 95% of the revenue comes from China, 2.1% from Thailand, and 1.8% from Taiwan.

PUBG Mobile was in second place, having the US $ 168 million in revenue, which represents a growth of 12.8% compared to last year. Something curious is that 53% of that value is not exactly from the title, but from the alternative version sold in China, Game For Peace, and 10.4% from the United States.

In the list, there are other popular games, such as Monster Strike, Roblox, Pokémon GO, and Brawl Stars, which was recently launched in China and ended up rising for this reason, but it is interesting to see Tencent’s dominance in the top positions.
