Microsoft has made new updates available for its 20H2 and 21H1 versions – the latter in the trial version – with new features for users. The cumulative update has the package name KB5001391 and builds 19042.962 or 19043.962, respectively.
The main highlight is the arrival of the News and Interests widget in the system tray. The novelty has now been applied to Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview channels. Until then, the tool appeared to testers only on the Dev channel.
The functionality displays information about the weather on the taskbar. When the user hovers the mouse over the icon, a personalized feed appears with the main news of the moment.
In addition to the newly launched feature, Microsoft has also reported fixing a number of bugs. Among them was an issue that prevented websites from exiting Internet Explorer mode on the Edge. Another barred the complete deletion of necessary profiles at the exit, when using the alternative of deleting cached copies of roaming profiles. One more error resolved resulted in failures in the device health report.
