Colin Kroll, Vine’s co-founder is found dead at age 35; suspected overdose

Colin Kroll, Vine's co-founderColin Kroll, co-founder of Vine and HQ Trivia was found dead this weekend at his apartment in New York.

Kroll, who was 35 years old, had his body discovered by his girlfriend after she tried to contact him consecutively without success.

According to TMZ and The Daily Beast, authorities suspect the death was caused by an overdose, seeing that materials used for drug use were found nearby.

The young executive was part of the Vine team, a popular short video app that burst in 2012 – he continued with the company when it was acquired by Twitter, where he remained as CTA and General Manager, until the year 2014.

Following the departure of Dom Hofmann (the other co-founder of Vine) from Twitter, Kroll temporarily took over his role shortly before being fired.

With their departure from Twitter, they decided to found HQ Trivia last year, which despite having become virginal, went through financial problems after investors backed down.

Apparently, uncertainty surfaced on evidence of Kroll’s behaviour that emerged on Twitter, especially with women – something that could undoubtedly have a negative influence on the company’s future.
