Samsung Foundry, a division of the South Korean chip developer and maker, has certified two new tools manufactured by Cadence and Synopsys to develop new chips based on the 5LPE (low power early) production process, which can make its debut in the Galaxy S11.
Both tools are known by the names Synopsys Fusion Design Platform and Cadence Full-Flow Digital Solution. The idea is that they are able to create solutions based on the ARM Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 cores.

Samsung’s new production process is designed to allow parts of the 7-nanometer product design to be reused while taking advantage of the benefits of 7-nanometer technology.
The manufacturer promises a 25% improvement in logical efficiency with the new production process, with a 20% reduction in consumption and a 10% improvement in performance.
