It seems that Samsung really is committed to wagering all its chips on the Galaxy A line to compete with Chinese manufacturers who have consecrated themselves by presenting ideas out of the box that diverges from the repetitive pattern in the smartphone market.
A few months ago the South Korean giant registered patents for an idea that could finally come true very soon: a screen runs through the front of the device as well as the entire side of the device curving into the back cover and forming a long and single uninterrupted screen.
The novelty may be the evolution of interesting ideas we’ve seen on devices like Nubia X and live NEX Dual Display, but instead of two separate screens – one in the front and one behind – Samsung should launch the project with only one screen which folds around the device with the future Galaxy A100.
As you can see from Samsung’s proposals above, the idea is to offer a screen that goes from the front panel to the back cover, bending over the top of the smartphone. In the first figure of the second image, we can see that the company also plans to implement camera technology under the display that has been in development for years and was first shown by its Chinese competitor Oppo. The second idea is to deploy the camera off-screen.
The concept of this type of product differs from the idea of folding smartphones: rather than presenting a display that can be expanded when opened, the continuous display should extend the possibilities of the smartphone as the Nubia X and the NEX Dual Display planned to do.
The idea can be presented in 2020 and may represent a very important milestone of Samsung not only in the history of smartphones but also in China, whose performance is extremely disappointing with only a 1% market share.
With Chinese manufacturers consolidating more and more like innovators and featuring exciting new features, their traditional competitors must chase after an injury so as not to lose even more in sales. With the entire smartphone market falling in recent years, innovation and enterprise pioneering will play a vital role if they want to reverse this scenario in the next decade.

Information regarding the Galaxy A100 should come in the coming months as the company begins to work more effectively on the product, including prototypes, codes, and hardware being leaked. As said, it is very likely that the device will be presented in 2020, but we will keep an eye on any news.
