The Kodi Media Center app has just been updated to the new version 18.4 promising a number of enhancements, bug fixes, more stable experience and more reliable interface than ever before. The update does not have huge aesthetic changes but offers fixes for better everyday use.
Among the most noticeable news to users is the media playback fix which in the previous release had memory leaks and segfault issues on Linux systems, but fortunately, the bug is fixed with the 18.4 updates.
Named “Read”, the update also offers improvements to slideshow images, radio text size button correction, season/episode formatting for video add-ons, and more.
Many – indeed, most – of these fixes are hidden deep in Kodi and really should not be obvious to most people; Unless you are doing something that regularly hits one of these changes, you will never really notice. That said, they are all real bugs and real bugfixes; so, as always, thank you to everyone who found a bug, took the time to report it, and in some cases provided a fix.

The official update note also states that, because of the different platforms, the update may take a few days to reach operating systems, but the news is already being implemented in desktop versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
