While preparing the latest details to introduce the new Mate 30 to the world, Huawei held a conference on Wednesday (18) presenting it’s Atlas 900. According to the company, the news should make Artificial Intelligence training even faster.
However, after the presentation, the company’s vice president Hu Houkun was asked about Huawei’s plans involving a possible transfer of 5G technology to some western company. In response, he did not confirm, but also did not deny the possibility :
The 5G is developing very fast and there is a lot of controversy surrounding Huawei. However, the idea of 5G technology transfer is really very easy to understand. On the one hand, if 5G technology is transferred, the 5G supply chain will gain more competition. The biggest benefits will be for industrial development.
Hu Houkun also said that if Huawei chooses this path, the company can gain the trust of foreign agents :
On the other hand, if a company fully mastered Huawei’s 5G technology, it could further develop it. This will also help to eliminate all doubts and questions surrounding Huawei.
The executive’s statement is not very clear about what the Chinese’s next steps will be. Even so, it seems that the company may be willing to make this technology transfer to dispel any doubts involving alleged espionage by Beijing.

The move can also be seen as a way to make Huawei indirectly access other markets. That’s because, despite the problems surrounding its name, the western company that takes over the technology could possibly have “open doors” in Trump’s US, for example.
