Absolute success! Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus hit record sales in Latin America

Samsung executive commented this week that the company’s new flagships are up 15% in the last generation in sales numbers. This information came as a response to claims by analysts who believed that the Galaxy S8 was not selling as well as expected.

The South Korean giant now brings even more encouraging numbers, this time to sales of its new flagships in Latin America. In its first two months on the market, the Galaxy S8, also including the Plus version (S8 +), outperformed sales by 50% compared to Galaxy S7 and the Edge version in the region.

In Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico, for example, the number of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones sold is almost twice as large as the Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge volume registered in the same period last year.

While Samsung celebrates the success of its new flagships, the company takes the opportunity to list the differentials that draw both audiences to the Galaxy S8.

Infinite screen: No barrier, no limits

The infinite display, with its continuous surface, rounded angles and no buttons, is the attribute that stands out most in the new Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. It allows consumers to have the best experience while browsing the internet, watching movies or even working. The reduced edges bring the better use of the screen compared to the body of the smartphone.

New possibilities with Smart Switch

A feature that enables you to quickly and easily transfer content to a new device, including data, applications, settings, and layouts.

A smarter way to access your phone

Incorporated into an exclusive module with the front camera, the iris reader makes it possible to scan it using a biometric identification method that uses mathematical pattern recognition of iris images to increase security. All this in a simple and fast way.

New standard in mobile security

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus work with Samsung Knox, a proprietary security platform for the company. In addition, the devices offer a broad selection of biometric technologies that include iris and fingerprint scanners that allow users to select the safest and best-performing method of biometric authentication.

A powerful tool to record the best moments

The new devices are equipped with an 8 MP front-facing camera with f / 1.7 aperture and autofocus and a 12 MP rear-facing camera and f / 1.7 aperture with Dual Pixel technology for the best low light shots.

More storage, more flexibility

By incorporating hybrid SIM support, the Galaxy S8 can accept a microSD card to provide expanded storage of up to 256 GB of memory. Alternatively, you can store a second SIM card so that smartphone users can use the usual phone number for calls and texts and reserve the second entry for data from a local SIM card in case of travel or for an additional phone number.

A robust battery

The Galaxy S8 and S8 feature a battery of 3,000 mAh and 3,500 mAh, respectively, designed to maintain long-term durability and stability. Unlike the previous line that lost 80% of its load after one year of use, the new ones retain approximately 95% of the total battery charge.

Definitely an unlimited smartphone

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus offer a complete portfolio of products and services, enriching the experience of both devices for productivity and mobile connectivity. The handsets are compatible with the new Gear VR with control and connect to the new Gear 360 camera to create 4K and 360-degree videos as well as 15 MP photos.

In addition, the user can increase their productivity by using the Samsung DeX, which turns the smartphone into a desktop. The enhancement makes it easy to view and edit spreadsheet, text, and email data on your smartphone, making tasks on your device faster and smarter.
