In the midst of conflicts between Apple and Epic, the smartphone maker finally decided to close the game producer’s developer account on its platforms. This action happened after the apple blocked all Epic development accounts for iOS and macOS.
This blockade was followed by a lawsuit filed by the video game company, alleging that the update to Fortnite should not affect its other products, such as Unreal Engine, for example. After that, in a decision by an American judge, it was agreed that Apple did not make a mistake in removing the Fortnite app from the App Store, but that the Cupertino giant cannot, in fact, block all Epic accounts.
Still, with the closure of Epic’s developer account, several applications were affected.
Starting with Fortnite itself, those who still have the app installed on an Apple device will still have access to the game. However, it will not be possible to access the game’s infamous in-app payment system. In addition, gamers will not be able to download the update that brings the fourth season of the title to the app, with skins from some Marvel characters.
In addition, other Epic games, such as Battle Breakers and Infinity Blade Stickers, have also been removed from the App Store and will thus suffer the same impacts as Fortnite: users will not have access to new game updates.
Now, when searching for “Epic Games” in the App Store, the store does not offer any results. The developer’s developer page on the Internet is completely blank.
In an official statement, Apple commented on the matter and said that it hopes, in the future, to be able to work with Epic and make its applications available on the App Store again, but stressed that this will only be possible after Epic reviews the system. internal payments:
We are disappointed that we have to close the Epic Games account on the App Store. We have worked with the Epic Games team for many years on their releases and releases. The court recommended that Epic comply with the ‘App Store’ guidelines as their case progressed, guidelines that they followed over the past decade to create this situation. Epic refused. Instead, they repeatedly send out Fortnite updates designed to violate the App Store guidelines. This is not fair for all other developers on the App Store and is putting customers in the middle of the fray. We hope to be able to work together again in the future, but unfortunately that is not possible today.

Finally, Apple explained that the decision to remove Epic Store accounts and block the in-app payment system was made to protect its users and that this action is applied to any developer who violates the community guidelines.
