With less than a week to go before the official launch of the new iPhones, a new rumor indicates that Apple has plans to resurrect the iPhone SE. That’s because the Cupertino giant needs to keep a cheaper option in the developing world market.
According to sources heard by Nikkei, with the release of the iPhone 11, Apple should stop selling iPhone 7 in all countries where it operates. However, this handset is the cheapest option for the company in several major markets such as India and China.
So, in an effort to serve this audience, Cupertino’s company is planning a “spiritual successor” to iPhone SE. This handset could be announced in early 2020, has a 4.7 inch LCD screen and should hit the market with “competitive” pricing.
When it comes to design, sources say Apple should recycle the iPhone 8. However, despite the dated look, the new device should come out of the box with the Apple A13 processor, and it is not yet clear whether it will have Touch ID or Face ID.
Anyway, this device is being planned to occupy a space that should be the iPhone XR. That’s because analysts indicate that the release of the iPhone 11 should not cheapen this variant.
Thus, your price should fall to somewhere between $ 600 (~ $ 2,500) and $ 650 (~ $ 2,708). Already the successor of iPhone SE can be announced for only $ 400 (~ $ 1,666). For now, Apple has not officially commented on the matter.
