Facebook and Platzi have formally announced the availability of an online technology training course with grants of 1,000 fellowships for people residing in Latin America (including Brazil among participants) for minorities available in the technology industry.
Focused on providing programming-related knowledge, the course will be taught through Platzi’s online platform and will last for a total of 21 weeks (with classes starting on 8/8/2019 and going through 1/31/2020). There are altogether seven technical courses and four basic skills for professional growth, with classes available in Spanish and Portuguese. The initial and final sessions are through live broadcasts, plus three additional sessions focused only on questions and answers.
In order to apply for a vacancy, filling in the application form, having a Facebook account, being in one of the focus groups of the project (women, Afro-descendants, rural populations, indigenous groups, migrants or refugees, LGBTQ + ), do not have the financial capacity to afford the course and have no link with any educational institution currently.
Classes will require the applicant to have access to the internet and a device for attending classes, which can be done by PCs, tablets or smartphones.
