It is not news that Instagram has been the focus of news recently due to the various tests it has been carrying out, both in changes to classic functions and in the addition of new ones. The platform experimented with new reactions tried to change its interface on the main screen, and today the social network has started testing to prevent sharing of posts from the feed-in Stories.
Now, as discovered by developer Alessandro Paluzzi and confirmed by the company itself in a statement to the TechCrunch website, Instagram tests a complete redesign for the popular Stories, with a familiar look. The experiment allows selected users to view publications in a vertical layout, in the style of rival TikTok.

Also according to the platform statement, the novelty is only available in the form of a prototype and is not being made available to the general public, not even as a test. In practice, this means that there are chances of the change not being implemented on the social network.
With strong possibilities of being controversial, the vertical layout of Stories can make them more focused on the dissemination of videos instead of photos and posts, which would end up complementing the tests related to the sharing of publications, as well as all the changes that the network has been doing at Reels.
