Announced just over a week ago (1, 2 ), Apple’s new operating systems, iOS 13 and iPadOS, have a feature as a newcomer to compatibility with controls of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles to enhance the gaming experience.
By pairing the joystick, you can use it in any external controller compatible game – not all titles support its use as this will depend on each developer.
Despite being released only in a trial version for developers, for now, it is now possible to install the new systems – and their wallpapers – even without being registered in the program.
So here are the steps to pair the controls of both consoles on your device with iOS 13 or iPadOS installed:
- Press and hold the “PS” and “Share” buttons on the DualShock 4 joystick until the lights start flashing rapidly – when the accessory enters the pairing mode;
- Go to the Settings> Bluetooth path on the updated iPhone or iPad;
- When DualShock appears in the list, touch it;
- After pairing, you can now use it incompatible games.
- Turn on the Xbox One control by pressing the “Xbox” button;
- Press and hold the “Connect” button for three seconds, for the joystick to enter pairing mode;
- On the iPhone or iPad with the update installed, go to Settings> Bluetooth and find the accessory in the list;
- Tap the name of the control to be paired instantly.
