Microsoft has long been working to release a feature that allows you to change the background image during a conversation via the Teams application for Windows and macOS. Since last year, the company announced that it would release this feature, but until today it had not done so.
However, the application now allows this change. With the new function, the user can select any image on the computer to use it as a background during videoconferences in the application. The resource is useful for those who work in the home office regime and want to present themselves in a meeting with a corporate setting, or with the logo of the fund company, for example.
To make the change before joining a Teams meeting, simply click on Background Effects on the image and audio setup screen. This option is next to the icon to turn the microphone on or off. To use your own image, just click Add New and then choose an image from your computer. The images must be in JPG, PNG, or BMP format.
Now to insert the change after you have already joined a conference, click Meeting Controls and select More actions> Show background effects. To select your own image, click Add new and select a JPG, PNG, or BMP image right from your computer.
Before defining the image, it is possible to have a preview of how the video will look, in case any changes are necessary.
This change is now available for Teams. However, if the option to add your own image does not appear, you can force this function.
For Windows computers, just select a JPEG image with up to 1MB and paste it in the following path: % AppData% \ Microsoft \ Teams \ Backgrounds \ Uploads. After making the copy, your image should appear in the list of standard wallpapers.

For computers with macOS, just copy the image, which should also be a JPEG file of up to 1MB in the path / users / <username> / Library / Application Support / Microsoft / Teams / Backgrounds / Uploads . As it will be for the Windows application, the image will be included in the standard wallpapers.
Remember that Teams already supports up to 300 people in one call.
