Red Dead Redemption is one of the few Rockstar titles that is nonetheless console-only, making PC gamers have to settle for other developer franchises or risk some method of getting RDR to run on computers and notebooks.
The project “Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project” was recently unveiled, which aims to remaster the game and make it compatible with the Windows platform, but it is an unofficial design, so there are limitations of technological resources to meet to the expectations of the players.
The first version of the western-based action game was announced in 2010, where the maximum graphics quality of the games was well below what we have today, as part 2 has up to 4K resolution. Added to this, the number of platforms compatible with the title was limited to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, leaving the PC aside for this RockStar game.
Since the company already has a track record of making its releases available first to consoles and then to computers, many have been waiting for RDR between 2011 and 2012, which has not happened.
To try to help gamers get access to the game on their PC, a team of developers decided to adapt the game to be compatible with Windows, but in an unofficial project, having to deal with all the limitations of this situation.
A few days ago, the “Red Dead Redemption: Damned Enhancement Project” team released the first trailer of how the title is looking, giving fans of the western franchise a sense of how the work is going.

Because it is an unofficial version, the developers explain that it is necessary to run the game inside the Xenia or RPCS3 emulator, which is compatible with 64-bit Windows only. In their short report, they say that the graphics optimizations performed made RDR achieve wheels in high image quality, as well as overall visual enhancements to bring it as close as possible to today’s appearance conditions.
