Xiaomi has never been a reference when it comes to distributing new versions of Android on their phones, especially when it comes to intermediate devices.
Still, the Chinese have already released Android 10 for several models in the Redmi 7 series, and even some in the Redmi 8 family – and the most recent one contemplated with the update is none other than the Redmi 8A.
The laptop has just been upgraded to Android 10 in China, following its more expensive siblings, the Redmi 8, as well as the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The update features the build V11.0.2.0.QCPCNXM and already includes even the Android security package dated July 2020.
Despite the great news, unfortunately, the model still remains on MIUI 11, however, it is eligible to receive MIUI 12, we just don’t know yet when it should happen – possibly in August or September.
The Redmi 8A is one of Xiaomi’s most popular notebooks in conjunction with the Redmi Note 8 (which is still waiting for Android 10), both of which are quite successful due to its great cost-benefit ratio.
It remains to be seen when the newest version of the little green robot will arrive for the Redmi 8A Dual / Redmi 8A Pro, which are different variants of the model contemplated.
