After taking the stage to introduce the new Redmi Note 8 and 8 Pro to the world, Xiaomi subsidiary general manager Lu Weibing spoke to the press. According to the executive, the launch of the devices in India should “delay” about 2 to 3 months.
Speaking to 91mobiles, Weibing said Redmi intends to bring intermediaries to the Indian market and is working to make it happen. However, their availability should be closer to the end of the year, somewhere between October and November.
Thus, we will have a stark contrast between the release of the Redmi Note 7 and Note 8 family. That’s because the Pro version was first announced in India and then arrived in China. Note 7 made its debut in the Chinese giant’s homeland, but also landed quickly on Indian soil.
When asked about a global version of Redmi Note 8 Pro, the executive declined to comment. This raises some concerns in Mi Fans since its predecessor – Note 7 Pro – was never made official outside the India-China circuit.
Remember that the Note 8 family was announced this morning with good specifications and prices. However, the devices must face fierce competition from Realme in the Indian market.

This is because the subsidiary of Oppo announced beforehand the Really, XT. This handset features the same 64 MP rear camera and Snapdragon 712 processor, something that might please those users who didn’t like Redmi’s MediaTek solution.
