As we know, folding smartphones are already a reality and, despite the problems of the Galaxy Fold, many companies are eyeing this new market. Therefore, Huawei is preparing to begin sales of Mate X in September.
Now, according to a new rumor published by Max J of Samsung News, Sony is also interested in creating its own foldable solution. However, unlike the other companies, the Japanese giant can bet on a screen that can be rolled up.
Below is an example of a display that can be used by Sony. The video is part of the division responsible for manufacturing OLED displays for South Korean Samsung:
In addition to having a screen that can be rolled up, the so-called Sony handset can still reach the market with powerful specifications. Check a technical datasheet below:
- Screen manufactured by LG or Samsung
- Snapdragon 855 or SM7250 Processor
- Modem Qualcomm X50
- 3,220 mAh battery
- Nautilus Design
- 10X zoom camera

For now, Sony has not yet officially manifested itself on the subject. So we warned that everything still needs to be taken as just another rumor of the market. It is worth remembering that the category of foldable smartphones has great potential and the arrival of new competitors is always good news.
