Vivo NEX 2: rendering shows smartphone with front composed only by screen

Vivo NEX 2Smartphone manufacturers have begun to try other design possibilities a few years ago. We began to see increasing use of the screen, and for that, it was necessary to include a notch at the top of the display, which houses various sensors, cameras, and sound output, at the same time as the edges became thinner and thinner.

After that, other possibilities were found, such as the retractable front camera, such as the one currently present in OnePlus 7 Pro, sliders like the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, and rotating mechanisms such as the Samsung Galaxy A80 and ASUS Zenfone 6.

Vivo uses the NEX series to reveal smartphones with great use of the screen. Today, a tweet from the leaker Ice Universe reveals what we should expect from Vivo NEX 2, to be presented by the brand still this year.

First, he said that Samsung canceled a project that was called Full-Display 2.0, where the team in charge sought to develop an almost 100% screen-based device with no notch, hole or cutout.

According to him, this cancellation was a mistake, as some Chinese manufacturers are producing devices with this feature. One of them, it would be Vivo, with its NEX 2.

The phone would not have side buttons, and the display would have curvature for the sides, as it currently found on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus.

There’s a chance he’ll be able to count on a retractable sensor again or use the under-the-screen camera technology, such as Xiaomi and Oppo.

Finally, the top and bottom edges would be extremely thin, delivering one of the best uses ever seen among smartphones.

In any case, there is no date for Vivo NEX 2 to be revealed by the Chinese brand. So we’ll have to wait for more leaks and rumors to find out more about it.
