WhatsApp starts testing small change in media sending screen

WhatsApp WhatsApp started sending, on Thursday (25) a new update for users registered in the Beta program of the app on the Google Play Store. From this update, the messenger test version reaches build number 2.21.5.4 on Android.

From this version, WhatsApp will start testing a small change in the layout of the screen for sending media files, such as photos, videos, and GIFs. The novelty, which has not yet been released to the public, but has already been spotted in the latest version of the application, is a subtle change in the look of the footer of the media-editing screen.

As you can see in the screenshots above, which show the old version on the left and the current one on the right, the area for entering text is circled by an oval message balloon. In addition, the icon for inserting more media files entered this “balloon” and also gained a new look.

The symbol for sending the file and the message also changed slightly and had its size slightly reduced, in addition to being aligned with the text entry icon. Finally, the recipient’s name also changed position and moved from the lower-left corner to the right end of the footer.

As stated, this novelty is not yet available to the public, but the WABeta Info team has already managed to gain access to the change based on the messenger source code. Therefore, even if your application is at version 2.21.5.4, you will not be able to see this for now.

So far there is no information on when – or at least if – WhatsApp will definitely implement this change. So you need to keep an eye on the messenger news over the next few days.

It is worth remembering that, recently, the messenger also started to test an option to silence video files before they are sent in a conversation. In addition, for iOS users, the app won a test with a logout option.
