The WhatsApp app will stop offering support for several cell phones in 2021, causing users to be prevented from using the app to exchange messages and any other type of action, both on iPhones and Android models.
This action focuses only on older smartphones, but what is surprising is the fact that, for the first time, Apple devices are affected by this decision by Facebook. However, there is a possibility that jailbreak users will not be affected by this removal, at least for now.
Among the brands of Android phones that will be affected by this lack of update are Samsung, Motorola, LG, and HTC, which already have a certain tradition regarding the annual removal of some devices from the list of products that have the necessary compatibility to continue making messenger use.
According to the company, the support is scheduled to end on January 1, 2021, affecting the following models:
- iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4
- LG Optimus Black (and previous models)
- Motorola Droid RAZR
- Samsung Galaxy S3
- HTC Desire
However, there are some that may not be affected by this Facebook decision, as long as they are still being updated by its users, which are the iPhones that have iOS 9 or higher, as well as those that are running Android 4.0.3, which are:
- iPhone 4S , iPhone 5 , iPhone 5S , iPhone 6 , iPhone 6S
- LG Lucid
- Motorola Droid 4
- Sony Xperia Pro
- HTC Sensation, HTC Thunderbolt 4G
- Samsung Galaxy Note
- Samsung Galaxy S3 (and later models)
