During an interview with KH Island, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto explained why more news for Final Fantasy VII Remake was delayed to appear. According to Hashimoto, everything has its moment and there are several events of the company still this year.
Basically, Square Enix has a calendar for the production of your games. If the progression has nothing significant or new content already completed, it does not make sense to drop more details to the public.
“You need to know this for a future game, you have a development plan. Firstly, we should consult the production progress of the game, because only then can we summarize and show the relevant information to the public, “explained the producer.
According to Hashimoto, there are still three Square Enix events in 2017: the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary, the Final Fantasy VII 20th Anniversary, and the Kingdom Hearts 15th Anniversary. Does that mean we’ll see more details over there and it was a hint from the producer? Well, not necessarily, but the information thrown in the air gives clues that more details may come soon.
Both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3 are the most anticipated developer games for this generation. The Disney game with Square recently won a vague (2018) date, but the remake of one of the most beloved games of all time remains unpredicted.
