With improved antenna design, iPhone SE 2 is expected to begin production in 2020, Ming-Chi Kuo suggests

Ming-Chi KuoMing-Chi Kuo, an analyst with a respectable hit record regarding Apple’s upcoming news, has just published a report with some information about the successor to the iPhone SE, chronologically called SE 2.

According to the analyst, the smartphone will hit the market with an enhanced antenna design using liquid crystal polymer (LCP) to enhance wireless transmission.

In his note, Kuo also commented that Career Technologies and Murata Manufacturing will be responsible for supplying the iPhone SE 2 antenna components in early 2020 – the model is expected to gain commercial launch only at the end of the first quarter.

Kuo had already commented on some details of the iPhone SE 2, such as a similar design with the iPhone 8 (including a 4.7 ”screen), presence of the traditional Touch ID Home button, Apple 13 Bionic processor and 3 GB of RAM. As for storage, models with 64 and 128 GB are expected, in Gray, Silver, and Red.

Like the iPhone 11, SE 2 should not rely on 3D Touch, a solution that has been replaced by Haptic Touch. The starting price of the iPhone SE’s successor would be $ 399.

There is also a possibility that iPhone SE 2 may not end up being the product’s final name, seeing that Apple may choose nomenclatures like iPhone 8s or iPhone 9.
