Today, Microsoft’s Brad Rossetti announced that the company would release the first preview of Redstone 5 for Xbox One for Insiders Preview Skip Ahead.
Earlier this month, the company revealed that the Xbox Insider Program was getting its own Skip Ahead cycle, a similar option to what we see available in Windows 10. In recent weeks, those who opted for it remained in sync with users in Preview Alpha, but today Skip Ahead is jumping to build 1810.
Xbox One Insiders – Preview Alpha Skip Ahead users we will be releasing a new 1810 build today at 6.00pm PDT 7/2/18. This build has the same features as 1806 plus more to be announced over the coming weeks!

This is an early access to far more advanced versions than other Insiders, including Redstone 5. The current version available to Preview Alpha members is build1806, which includes Redstone 4 features.
In the advertisement, Brad Rossetti says that the 1810 build has much of the same features as 1806, but has news that will be announced in the coming weeks. For now, you can check the fixes that were made in build 1810:
- Groups: Renamed groups now change without the need for a reboot.
- My games and apps: Fixes for titles using FastStart technology.
- Narrator: Several corrections to the Narrator’s new languages.
- System performance: Platform performance patches.
It is unclear if Microsoft is planning another small upgrade to the 1806 version. If build 1807 or 1808 exists, this is what Alpha will continue to receive for a while. If not, maybe the company plans to go straight to 1810, which would mean that Alpha members could see this news in about a month.
